DAY 3: Videos of interviews with TV crew following tor that day

Well done, Derek!!!

Day 3: Meeting with Shin family in the evening

Mom and Alex's Day 3

Went to Bouctouche city hall/arena/gym building for concert held every Wednesdays that had some very good and well-known Acadian singers and a band which today's donation entry fee went to the volunteer fire department for equipment. As you can see, they also had one of my favourite foods for only $4 per overloaded plate of mussels - so I had 2 plates! Alex didn't even have any as he and Ethan were too busy trying to hide from some "creepy" girls. Jessica liked to walk around now and then so tended to Nancy's and my empty plates.

End of Mom and Alex's day 1 - a possible mosquito at our usual charming hotel in Gananoque

End of DAY 1

Willem's update and fancy Korean toilets

The hotel is western-style with double and single bed mattresses. Derek awoke at 02:00 and drifted in and on of sleep until the real morning. He and McKade are about 2 doors down and are having a lot of fun together. Kelly brought me a very appreciated Starbuck's.
Derek is also having a great time with best bulgogi ever and a toilet with many buttons on it and a heated seat. I finally tried out some of the buttons and found that I can have different showers and a fan to  dry it. But it took me a while to find the off button.

Daddy is tired though...

Derek and McKade

Bus ride to hotel

Derek with buddy McKade, neither of them looking too worn out after a 14-hour flight!
Then ending their day with probable the most delicious bulogogi they have ever had.

Safe and sound

Minutes to landing

You made a long flight!! A very early good morning from here. Wonder what you will have for breakfast? What? It's your dinner and bedtime soon! 🤔
Hope you and daddy had a good flight and that you didn't get a headache, or ear pain or something. Hope to get a photo of you stepping in South Korea, awake or asleep?!

Not noteworthy as Alex and Mom had a lazy day today, but after we dropped you off, I searched to Rouge River for kayak launching sites unsuccessfully but did find a nice mountain biking trail 😀. Then went quickly to Costco where Alex had time to get into trouble by getting a poutine instead of a slice of pizza. I half slept while getting a pedicure while Alex half slept waiting in the car. Back home, I napped while Alex watched France defeat Iceland which I think you would be happy about! (It's taped). Then chores and early to bed after watching the end of Zootopia. Loved that movie! 🐰      XOXOXOX

Still in plane

Goodnight from here my dear Derek. I am following the progress of your flight and see that you have passed the half way mark. Wondering why your flight left almost a hour late? I hope you are not finding the flight too long, and maybe having some fun making new friends. Right now, I imagine that you are fast asleep and said "good night, love you" when I was in your empty room feeding your fish. Made you a fresh bed to come home too. Lots of love (Lol) to both you and daddy! Mommy

Departing pics

And they are off!

So the day of departure arrived and it was a smooth check-in and so quick goodbye wth mom and Alex. Met a few of the tour's families and apparently Derek and McKade have already become good buddies while waiting for boarding. Too bad their seats are 20 seats apart.
Dear Derek, Mom is very excited about and proud of you for going half way across the world to experience the wonderful country you were born in. I'll be thinking about you and wondering what you are doing and felling every day. Well, maybe rather every hour, or every minute! I love you so much. Hope you and daddy have the most amazing time and tell everything when you come back. That's right, Derek, you won't be able to say "I forget". Lol

2 more sleeps

Mom has the boys all packed. Only 2 more sleeps before Derek and Willem's departure to Seoul. 4 more sleeps before Alex and I leave for New Brunswick. Unfortunately, a lot of rain daily forecasted for Seoul ☹. Most tour visits indoors but hope won't affect absorbing new surroundings and scenery during the bus rides from place to place. In any case, this trip should be awesome for them! Bon voyage!
